"Models" and "Photographers"

I've observed thousands of models, photographers and images and every now and them I'm compelled to make a comment... but then I don't. I know lots of people have things run through their minds they wish they could express... I found that writing this down gave me the best form of outlet. If read carefully, you'll see that this post is not an attempt at bashing anyone... It's simply me getting my general thoughts out once and for all about how I view "models" and "photographers". Just because you get in front of the camera... doesn't mean you are/know how to "model". This term gets thrown around very loosely and, to a degree, I don't think that it should. There are more fitting decriptions for some people like: "I like taking pics" or "aspiring model". Modeling requires natural ability and the study of the craft (the entire business)... And the same goes for photography. Just because you own a camera, you aren't necessarily a "photographer". You may be better classified: "I likes taking pictures" or "I'm learning the art photography". Being a photographer requires much more skill than point, click and edit. It's truly a craft. Whether "model" or "photographer", it's a continuous learning process. If you aren't there yet, respect the hard work others have put in to attain those labels. Continue to study/strive to get to where they are. And remember... your work is your voice. When others see your work and it's done well... you don't even have to say "I'm a "model" or a "photographer".
